Classic Visit at Ebony Forest - Immerse in the Nature of Mauritius
There was a time when ebony trees dominated our island Mauritius. It was the habitat of many unique bird species. Today, we only have a very small native ebony forest with endemic birds remaining. All animal and nature lovers out there, brace yourself for magnificent fauna and a distinctive birding experience in our indigenous forest of Chamarel, Mauritius.
It will be a journey of discovery in nature. Among those ebony trees, there is a door leading to a new way of life. You will have the opportunity to briefly visit the museum where our natural history is told.
Following the museum visit, enjoy a 30 minute guided tour of the Flycatcher raised walkway. You can take the safari jeep up to the Sublime Point and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Mauritian coastline. If you want to immerse even deeper in nature, continue a self-guided hike of the Ridgeline and the Piton Canot trails.
The earth plays music for those who listen. And the Ebony Forest Reserve Chamarel gives you a space to navigate and listen to this music.
