As keen conservationists, this was at the top of our list of places we wanted to visit, and it did not disappoint. The island is amazing and it's brilliant to see the tortoises roaming freely as well as the other species they have there. We saw the Pink Pigeon, Mauritius Fody, Telfar Skink, fruit bats, geckos and lots of interesting plant species. Our guide was lovely and certainly knew her stuff and it made for an incredibly enjoyable day. Well worth the money which goes towards the conservation efforts. Be warned that because it is a coral island, it's a good few degrees hotter than on the mainland! Would definitely recommend!
